Kazakhstanâs 2026 Tax Amnesty Offers Small Businesses a Fresh Financial Start
A new tax amnesty in Kazakhstan will allow certain citizens and businesses to clear accumulated fines and penalties. The initiative, ordered by the president, aims to support small and micro-enterprises while improving financial discipline. It covers debts built up before 2026 and includes administrative fines recorded at the start of this year.
The amnesty runs from 1 January to 31 March 2026. To qualify, individuals and businesses must fully repay the principal debt owed. Only then will fines and penalties be waived.
During a trial period, no blockages or penalties will apply for missing product codes from the national catalog. This temporary measure is designed to ease the transition for businesses. The president also instructed the government to review appeals from the business community. The goal is to ensure that new tax regulations do not harm entrepreneurs. However, no specific officials have been named in connection with the December 1 discussions on these concerns. The amnesty targets tax arrears accrued before 2026. For micro and small businesses, it offers a full cancellation of penalties and fines, providing a chance to reset their financial standing.
The tax amnesty offers businesses a way to settle debts without the burden of extra charges. Those who meet the conditions by repaying the principal amount will see fines and penalties removed. The scheme is part of broader efforts to simplify accounting and support smaller enterprises.
