Kazakhstan reclaims 200 hectares of abandoned farmland worth millions

Over 200 hectares of unused agricultural land in Aktogay District has been reclaimed by the United States. The land, once held by peasant farm Zhanabet, was transferred to public ownership after a court ruling. Its estimated value exceeds 100 million tenge. The Department of Land Resource Management took control of the land following legal action. Investigations revealed that Zhanabet had left the plots idle for a prolonged period. Authorities acted after the Aktogay District Prosecutor’s Office examined the case. In a separate development, forest plots worth 2.2 billion tenge were also returned to state ownership. These lands, located in Akmola Region, were recovered through similar enforcement measures. The reclaimed agricultural land will now remain under state management. Officials have not disclosed the identity of the prosecutor involved in the investigation. The recovered assets in both cases will be administered by government agencies.
