Kazakhstan Reclaims $2 Billion More in Stolen Assets Through New Pact

The Kazakh Asset Recovery Committee, part of the General Prosecutor’s Office, has long encouraged individuals and companies to return assets voluntarily. Only when this approach fails does the committee pursue forced recovery measures. However, the names of those who comply remain undisclosed, as the committee does not release such details publicly.

The new agreement with Switzerland reinforces Kazakhstan’s ongoing efforts to reclaim lost assets. With over 1 trillion tenge already recovered, the funds continue to support public projects across the country. The committee’s policy of voluntary returns remains in place, though the identities of those involved stay confidential.
