Kazakhstan Honors Military Families Through Heartfelt Video Contest
Kazakhstan's Border Guard Service has celebrated the contributions of servicemen's families through a creative video contest. Held ahead of International Women's Day, the 'Shekara Aruy' competition showcased the daily lives of military families stationed in remote border regions. Fourteen participants from regional units shared their stories through short films.
The contest was organised by the Border Guard Service's Military-Patriotic Activities Directorate, with backing from the 'Zastava Tarlanary' association. Videos were uploaded to the service's official Instagram account, and public voting took place via Telegram.
Aruzhan Kulmanbetova, representing the Mangistau Regional Border Department, secured first place. Ainazym Kabyltai from West Kazakhstan Regional Border Department came in second, while Marzhan Chuzhanova from Pavlodar Regional Border Department took third. The winners were honoured at a ceremony held at the Border Guard Service's central headquarters in Nur-Sultan.
Colonel Z. Madedinov highlighted the event's success, noting the high quality of entries. He also stressed the importance of recognising and supporting military families. The contest aimed to boost the service's prestige, foster creativity, and strengthen ties between servicemen and their communities.
The 'Shekara Aruy' contest provided a platform for spouses of border guards to share their experiences. By featuring their resilience and dedication, the initiative reinforced public appreciation for military families. The event concluded with an awards ceremony, marking a formal acknowledgement of their role in supporting Kazakhstan's border service.
