Kazakhstan climbs to 100th in global anti-money laundering rankings

Kazakhstan has achieved a significant milestone in its anti-money laundering efforts. The country has climbed to 100th position in the 2023 Basel Anti-Money Laundering Index, marking its best result since 2012. The Basel AML Index assesses 164 countries, making Kazakhstan's improvement notable. In 2021, it overtook an unspecified number of nations, further demonstrating its progress. This year, Kazakhstan has surpassed several major economies, including the United States, Japan, Singapore, China, Qatar, Italy, Hungary, and Türkiye, in the index. Kazakhstan's score has improved to 4.71 points, up from 4.65 points in 2022 when it ranked 111th. This steady improvement reflects the country's commitment to strengthening its anti-money laundering measures. Kazakhstan's rise to 100th position in the Basel AML Index is a testament to its dedication to combating money laundering and related financial crimes. The country has surpassed numerous nations and major economies, demonstrating its progress in this critical area.
