Kaufbeuren's water demand surges to 2.62 million cubic meters in 2025

Kaufbeuren's water supply has seen a noticeable rise in demand over the past year. Recent figures show an increase in distribution, reaching a provisional total of 2.62 million cubic meters. The town's Works Committee met to review the latest developments and financial updates for 2025.

During the meeting, Ursula Wirkner, commercial director of the waterworks, presented a half-year report for the 2025 fiscal year. The data revealed that water distribution climbed from 2.49 million cubic meters in the previous year to the current 2.62 million.

Part of this growth stems from higher supplies to neighbouring municipalities. The committee examined the factors behind the rise but did not disclose specific details about which communities are receiving additional water.

The provisional figures highlight a steady increase in water demand for Kaufbeuren. The town continues to monitor distribution trends as it supports both local and regional needs. Further updates are expected as the fiscal year progresses.
