Kassel's New Traffic Safety Tools Help Kids Learn Road Rules
Kassel's Traffic Safety Association has once again teamed up with local police to improve road safety for children. The long-standing partnership focuses on teaching young people essential skills for staying safe on the streets. This year's efforts included new equipment and training sessions at a city school.
The association and Kassel Police's traffic education unit work together regularly to boost children's safety. Every two years, they fund training for school crossing patrol students at Engelsburg Gymnasium. Their support also covers teaching materials and practical tools for lessons.
This year, the group provided a therapy bicycle to help children with physical disabilities learn about traffic rules. The specialised bike allows pupils with mobility challenges to take part in road safety training. On top of this, the association donated bicycle helmets and high-visibility vests to young learners. The handover of the safety gear took place at Kassel's Youth Traffic School at 11:00 AM. The event highlighted the ongoing commitment to making roads safer for the city's youngest residents.
The collaboration between the association and police ensures children receive proper training and equipment. With new tools like the therapy bicycle, more pupils can now join road safety lessons. The initiative continues to expand access to vital skills for young people in Kassel.
