Police Find Drugs and Cash in Raid in Schauenburg - Kassel police raids net €50,000 in drugs and uncover weapons cache
Police in the Kassel district have carried out a series of raids, seizing drugs worth more than €50,000. Two suspects were arrested on charges of commercial drug dealing but were later released. The operations uncovered significant quantities of illegal substances, weapons, and cash.
During one raid, officers found nearly 90 grams of cocaine, 120 grams of amphetamines, and over 190 grams of cannabis. They also confiscated €1,800 believed to be proceeds from drug sales. The search turned up knives, mobile phones, and drug paraphernalia linked to the suspects.
In a separate operation, police seized over 4.7 kilograms of amphetamines and nearly 90 grams of crystal meth. Both suspects remain under investigation for their alleged involvement in large-scale drug distribution.
Over the past five years, Kassel's drug market has shown a steady trend. While cannabis and cocaine use has risen slightly, the growth of synthetic drugs remains slower compared to major cities like Berlin, Hamburg, or Munich. Reports from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) indicate that amphetamine seizures in Berlin, for example, surged by 25% between 2023 and 2025.
The raids highlight ongoing efforts to disrupt drug networks in the region. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as investigations proceed. The seized substances and cash will be analysed as part of the case against the suspects.
