Kassel District Honors 256 Volunteers for Strengthening Local Communities

The Kassel district has celebrated its annual Volunteer Card ceremony, recognising the contributions of local volunteers. Over 70 people attended the event, including residents, officials, and 15 honourees from the city itself.

The ceremony brought together representatives from 17 municipalities, along with local government leaders. District Administrator Andreas Siebert spoke first, expressing deep respect for the volunteers’ essential work. He highlighted how their efforts strengthen communities across the region.

The event honoured 256 volunteers, with 194 receiving the Volunteer Card for the first time. The district’s recognition programme now reaches more people each year, reflecting the growing impact of local volunteer work. Officials and residents alike acknowledged the tangible difference these individuals make in their communities.
