Kansas City’s Beloved Pig Market Playground Hit by Vandalism Again

The 'Pig Market' playground in Kansas City’s center has suffered another act of vandalism. This time, the wooden pig sculptures had their ears broken off and were covered in graffiti. The city has now taken steps to repair the damage and reinforce security.

The playground’s iconic pig sculptures were first installed in December 2024. By April 2025, they had already been targeted by vandals, prompting the city to reinforce them. Despite these efforts, the structures were damaged again in the latest incident.

The damaged pig sculptures will be repaired and returned to the playground. Kansas City’s commitment to maintaining the site reflects its broader effort to deter vandalism and protect public amenities. Authorities continue to encourage citizens to help by reporting any relevant information.
