Kaiserslautern bus routes face three weeks of detours in March 2026

Bus passengers in Kaiserslautern will face diversions from March 11 to March 30 due to roadworks on Saarbrücken Allee. Routes 45 and N3, along with school buses, will follow temporary routes while construction continues near the Tegut supermarket.

The latest disruption comes after repeated works in the same area over the past two years. In early 2024, sewer repairs caused delays for three months. Later that year, road resurfacing added another two months of closures. The current project began around mid-2025 and has already lasted eight months by March 2026.

Affected buses will start from the 'Zeilstraße' stop before diverting. They will travel via Rheingaustraße, Storchenallee, Wasserrolle, Saarstraße, and Alte Schmelze. After passing these points, services will return to their usual paths.

For route N3, the return journey will also change. Buses will take Rheingaustraße and Storchenallee to a temporary stop named 'Rheingaustraße' before continuing.

The diversions will remain in place until March 30. Passengers on routes 45 and N3, as well as school buses, should plan for extra travel time. Temporary stops and rerouted paths aim to keep services running during the works.
