Jürgen Damm Honored for Preserving Michelbach’s 1,200-Year History

Jürgen Damm has been awarded the prestigious Historic City Seal of Marburg for his dedicated efforts in documenting and preserving the history of Michelbach, a district of the University City of Marburg. Mayor Dr. Thomas Spies presented the award to Damm during a ceremony held at the historic town hall.

Damm's work, published in 'City Script No. 107' and 'Michelbach: A Marburg District Reflects on 1,200 Years of History', serves as a valuable resource for scholars, local associations, and residents alike. His research has not only preserved Michelbach's rich history but also shaped its future.

Damm's involvement in local politics is commendable. He served as council secretary from 2001 to 2016 and deputy district chair from 2006 to 2011. His commitment to the district was previously recognised in 2016 with the Silver Honor Pin for his civic service. Despite a lack of information about his former roles, his impact on Michelbach is undeniable.

The University City of Marburg honours Jürgen Damm with the Historic City Seal for his outstanding volunteer work in preserving regional history. Damm's efforts have left a lasting impact on Michelbach, ensuring its history is preserved and shared for generations to come.
