John Ott named new chairman of Rank Group amid market optimism

Rank Group has announced that John Ott will take over as its new chairman, starting 17 November. Ott succeeds Alex Thursby, who left the position last month. The company's shares traded 0.71 per cent higher at 113.80 pence per share in London Tuesday morning following the announcement.

Ott brings a wealth of experience to the role, with over 40 years in global business. He previously served as a Senior Advisory Partner at Bain & Company and held the position of Group Strategy and M&A Director at Barclays Bank PLC. Karen Whitworth, who stepped down as chairman last month, will resume her role as senior independent director and chair of the audit committee.

John Ott's appointment as chairman of Rank Group is expected to bring a fresh perspective and extensive experience to the company's board. The market has responded positively to the news, with shares trading higher.
