John Deere Thefts Target Hesse Farmers, Police Seek Witnesses

Farmers across Hesse are on high alert after a series of thefts targeting John Deere equipment. The police are seeking witnesses and have released details about the suspects, urging farmers to take precautions to protect their valuable machinery.

Over the weekend of September 27-28, farms in Waldeck, Netze, and Sachsenhausen fell victim to thieves who made off with several devices and tools, including control elements from John Deere tractors worth around 3,000 euros each. The stolen items are crucial for the operation of the tractors, making these thefts particularly disruptive for the affected farmers.

The police have issued a warning to farmers, advising them to remove valuable equipment like GPS systems to prevent further thefts. In one of the break-ins, the thieves were caught on camera, providing valuable evidence for the investigation. The footage shows two tall, slim men aged approximately 30 to 40, who are now the focus of the police's search. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Bad Wildungen police station.

Police reports describe a string of similar incidents involving stolen John Deere equipment in Hessen, but no suspects have been named so far. Farmers are encouraged to enhance their security measures and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

The recent thefts have highlighted the need for farmers to protect their valuable equipment. By staying vigilant and taking necessary precautions, farmers can help deter potential thieves and safeguard their livelihoods. The police continue to investigate the incidents and appeal to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
