Insurance Supports Fire Safety Education: Child Finders Save Lives
Firefighters in Langenfeld are stepping up efforts to protect young children in emergencies. Senior Firefighter Kevin Loose, the townâs new fire safety educator, has begun distributing âChild Finderâ stickers to preschoolers. These bright decals help emergency responders quickly locate childrenâs bedrooms during a fire.
The initiative is part of Langenfeldâs fire safety education programme for kindergartens. Loose, who took on the role of Brandschutzerzieher at the start of the year, teaches children how to react in emergencies. The programme also aims to raise awareness among parents about fire prevention.
The âChild Finderâ stickers will be given to every preschooler in Langenfeldâs daycare centres. Families can request additional stickers at any time to ensure all children are covered. The project received a boost from a donation by Provinzial Versicherung Langenfeld-Reusrath, which will fund more materials. Torsten Maslow, deputy head of the Langenfeld Fire Department, thanked the insurer for its support. He explained that the stickers play a crucial role in speeding up rescues by showing firefighters exactly where children sleep.
The stickers are now being rolled out across local kindergartens. Firefighters hope the programme will reduce response times in emergencies and improve safety for young families. Parents and teachers can also request extra stickers to keep children protected at home.
