Insurance in Primorye has become cheaper, but its payouts have increased by tens of thousands

Car insurance costs in Primorye have shifted significantly in 2025. A new report from the Russian Union of Auto Insurers (RSA) shows drops in both compulsory and comprehensive policies. Meanwhile, payouts for claims have risen sharply across the region.

From January to September 2025, drivers in Primorsky Krai bought over 552,000 auto insurance policies. The total value of insurance premiums collected in the region reached 24.5 billion rubles, with nearly 5 billion rubles coming from auto policies alone.

The average price of compulsory motor insurance (OSAGO) fell slightly by 2.5%, settling at 7,800 rubles. A more dramatic change appeared in comprehensive insurance (CASCO), where costs dropped by 25% to 13,700 rubles. At the same time, payouts for claims increased. OSAGO claim settlements rose by 11,600 rubles, reaching an average of 148,000 rubles. CASCO payouts saw an even larger jump, climbing by 46,300 rubles to an average of 268,000 rubles.

The RSA’s analysis highlights a clear trend: lower premiums alongside higher payouts for drivers in Primorye. With nearly 5 billion rubles spent on auto insurance alone, the region’s market reflects both cost adjustments and increased compensation for policyholders.
