Over 50 Slick Accidents in North Hesse and Fulda - Icy roads trigger dozens of accidents and transport chaos in Hesse

Wintry weather has caused travel disruption across Northern Hesse and Fulda. Icy roads led to multiple accidents, with minor damage and a few injuries reported. Public transport services have also faced delays and cancellations in the region.

In Northern Hesse, freezing conditions resulted in 33 accidents involving property damage. Three additional crashes caused minor injuries, though none were serious. Authorities confirmed no major incidents despite the hazardous roads.

In Fulda, around 20 accidents occurred, mostly involving minor vehicle damage. Like in Northern Hesse, no serious injuries were recorded. Due to worsening conditions, RhönEnergie Verkehrsbetriebe suspended all evening bus services in the area.

Meanwhile, transport operators KVG and NVV in Kassel issued warnings about delays and cancellations. The icy weather disrupted schedules, leaving passengers facing longer wait times or alternative travel plans.

The icy spell has left roads treacherous and transport unreliable across the affected regions. While no severe injuries were reported, the disruption highlights the challenges posed by sudden winter weather. Services are expected to resume once conditions improve.
