Hyundai and Genesis Germany Name New CEO for 2026 Leadership Shift

Hyundai Motor Germany and Genesis Motor Germany have appointed a new leader for 2026. Andreas Zürnstein will take over as President and CEO from January 1. He replaces Ulrich Mechau, who became managing director in early 2024.

Zürnstein arrives with a strong background in the automotive sector. His most recent role was Senior Director of Direct & Digital Sales at Audi Germany. Before that, he held senior positions at Audi and FAW-Volkswagen across multiple countries.

The change in leadership takes effect on January 1, 2026. Zürnstein’s international experience is expected to guide Hyundai and Genesis through their next phase in Germany. His focus will include sales strategy and digital transformation for both brands.
