Huntress Simplifies CMMC Certification for Defense Contractors Ahead of 2025 Deadline
Huntress, a leading cybersecurity provider, has announced significant updates to its services, enabling contractors to efficiently meet the upcoming Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements. Huntress' purpose-built products support 37 of the 110 NIST SP 800-171 requirements, simplifying the CMMC assessment process.
Huntress offers free, assessor-ready documentation, including a Shared Responsibility Matrix and a detailed Operations Plan, to help contractors pass CMMC Level 2 assessments. These documents are crucial as the final rule passed by the Department of Defense (DoD) changes the verification process for contractors handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
Huntress' Managed Identity Threat Detection and Response integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365, including in Government Community Cloud (GCC) high environments. This integration ensures that Huntress' solutions are compatible with the environments where many contractors operate.
To demonstrate its effectiveness, a managed service provider achieved CMMC certification in just nine hours over two days, receiving a perfect score of 110. This was possible due to Huntress' Sensitive Data Mode, which blocks security analysts from accessing potential CUI files without compromising threat detection and remediation.
With CMMC Level 2 requirements set to enter DoD contracts starting November 10, 2025, Huntress' enhanced support, including collaboration with DEFCERT, positions contractors well for compliance. Huntress is an effective and efficient solution for contractors looking to achieve CMMC Level 2 certification, ensuring they meet the necessary standards for handling Controlled Unclassified Information.
