Homeless man arrested after violent robbery and assault in Frankfurt’s Bahnhofsviertel

A 47-year-old homeless man has been arrested in Frankfurt after allegedly robbing and assaulting a woman in the Bahnhofsviertel. The attack left the woman injured, and police quickly detained the suspect near the scene shortly afterwards.

The incident began when the suspect confronted the woman, demanding she hand over her narcotics. He then stole a small amount of cash—reportedly a low two-digit sum—before violently throwing her to the ground. The attack continued as he kicked her multiple times, issuing a final threat before fleeing.

Officers from the robbery response unit located and apprehended the man nearby. Due to his lack of a fixed address, he was taken into custody at the central police detention facility. Authorities have since launched an investigation into the suspect's actions. The identity of the lead investigator remains undisclosed, as police have not released any details about the team overseeing the case.

The suspect is now in custody while the investigation proceeds. The woman's injuries and the stolen cash form part of the ongoing inquiry. Police have not yet confirmed whether further charges will follow.
