Holiday crime spree hits Dillenburg as thieves target homes and graves

A series of crimes took place across Dillenburg, Driedorf, and Seelbach over the Christmas period. Thieves targeted homes, vehicles, and even a cemetery, leaving behind damage and stolen goods. Local police are now asking for public assistance in their investigations.

The first incident occurred in Seelbach, where a blue Audi A4 parked on Hohe Straße had its side window smashed. The damage happened sometime between 8:00 PM on December 22, 2025, and 7:30 AM the following morning.

Just a day later, a bronze angel figurine, roughly 30-40 cm tall, was taken from a gravestone in Roth Cemetery, Driedorf. The theft took place between 5:00 PM on December 23 and 11:00 AM on December 24, 2025. On Christmas Eve, burglars struck a home on Am Köppel street in Dillenburg. Between 5:00 PM on December 24 and 5:50 AM on December 25, they forced open a patio door and made off with a safe. No further details about the stolen items have been released.
