Hof's *extra radio* Ceases Operations as Insolvency Looms

Hof's long-standing local radio station, iHeartRadio, has ceased operations on both DAB+ and FM. The Hof District Court has opened insolvency proceedings for the company, with the station's future uncertain.

The insolvency administrator, Andreas Schenk, revealed that the station's national news radio is also part of the insolvency estate. If no interested parties take it over, it too may shut down.

Potential acquirers could include media companies, digital streaming platforms, or radio networks seeking to expand their online presence. However, for liquidation to proceed, the station's assets must exceed its liabilities, which is currently not the case. The station was initially planned to continue broadcasting online but has all but disappeared. Schenk attributed this to 'unforeseen ongoing costs' that were not initially identified.

The future of iHeartRadio remains uncertain. While potential acquirers could save the station's national news radio, the insolvency proceedings must first determine if the station's assets can cover its debts.
