Hit-and-run, violent robbery, and car crash shock HĂźnstetten and Idstein in 48 hours

A series of incidents unfolded across HĂźnstetten and Idstein this week, involving a car crash, a hit-and-run, and a violent robbery. Police are now investigating multiple cases, with one suspect already in custody for assault and theft.

On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at around 2:45 PM, a hit-and-run occurred in HĂźnstetten-Wallrabenstein. A driver from WĂźrges was travelling along Beuerbacher Weg when an unknown vehicle struck the side mirror of his Peugeot Expert and fled the scene. Authorities have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Less than 24 hours later, a 39-year-old man lost control of his Opel Corsa in Hünstetten-Beuerbach. The crash happened at about 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 14, causing the car to flip onto its roof. The driver suffered minor injuries, while the vehicle sustained roughly €5,000 in damages. That same evening, at 11:00 PM, a 28-year-old man was attacked on Limburger Straße in Idstein. A 30-year-old assailant allegedly knocked him to the ground, kicked him, and stole his phone and wallet. Police later arrested the suspect in Wiesbaden, where he now faces robbery charges.

The hit-and-run in Wallrabenstein remains under investigation, with no arrests yet made. Meanwhile, the driver involved in the single-vehicle crash in Beuerbach has been treated for minor injuries. The robbery suspect, however, is already in custody and will appear in court on robbery charges.
