Hit-and-run truck driver flees after crashing into ambulance near Lützelbach

A hit-and-run incident disrupted traffic on State Road L3106 near Lützelbach on Tuesday evening. A truck driver failed to stop, leaving the scene without reporting the collision. Authorities are now searching for the responsible driver.

The crash took place at around 6:15 p.m. on January 13, 2026, between Breitenbrunn and Rimhorn. An unidentified truck driver cut off an oncoming ambulance, causing it to swerve and hit a guardrail. The impact damaged the emergency vehicle, with repair costs estimated at roughly €3,000.

Police confirmed on January 15 that the truck driver had not stopped to assist or provide details, as required by law. Investigations are ongoing, but the identity of the person responsible remains unknown.

The ambulance sustained noticeable damage, though no injuries were reported. Police continue to appeal for witnesses who may have seen the truck or the events leading up to the collision. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
