Hit-and-run spree and drug busts shake the region in chaotic week

A series of incidents unfolded across the region this week, involving traffic violations, thefts, and drug seizures. Police responded to multiple cases, including a hit-and-run spree, a stolen motorcycle, and a break-in at a clothing store. Authorities also conducted targeted checks, uncovering forged documents and narcotics offences.

Early on Monday morning, a 60-year-old truck driver caused two hit-and-run accidents within minutes. The collisions involved three vehicles before the driver fled both scenes. Police later stopped him, prohibiting him from continuing his journey and demanding a €500 security deposit. He now faces hit-and-run charges and remains in custody for questioning.

On Tuesday, officers from the Highway Patrol Unit pulled over a car with French plates on the A3 motorway. The 44-year-old driver was found to be using a forged Slovakian licence and had no valid insurance. Meanwhile, Offenbach police carried out city-wide checks, launching three criminal investigations under the Narcotics Act. Over 100 grams of drugs were seized during the operation.

Traffic officers also set up speed checks near a daycare on Schillerstraße and a school on Heinestraße between 7:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Out of 1,547 vehicles recorded in the 30 kph zone, 96 were caught speeding.

In Neu-Isenburg, thieves stole a silver Harley-Davidson worth around €20,000 overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday. The bike was last seen around 9 p.m. in a courtyard on Hundertmorgenweg. Police arrested a suspect on December 10, 2025, but no name has been released.

Separately, three unidentified suspects forced their way into a clothing store on Große Marktstraße. They caused hundreds of euros in damage before stealing a cash register and a phone. The Criminal Investigation Division is now investigating and has asked witnesses to call 49 69 8098-1234.

The incidents resulted in arrests, seized narcotics, and ongoing investigations. Police continue to urge the public to report any relevant information. Speed checks and targeted operations remain in place to address traffic and criminal offences.
