Hit-and-Run in Gießen: Woman Injured, Drivers Sought
A 53-year-old woman was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver in Gießen's Rödgener Straße on Friday, September 26, at around 7:00 AM. Three unknown men rushed to her aid before she was taken to a clinic by ambulance.
The incident occurred as the woman was crossing the street towards Lilienthalstraße. A modern silver car, heading towards the city center, hit her foot while overtaking a dark car waiting at the traffic light. The driver of the silver carmax failed to stop and is now being sought by the police alongside the driver of the dark car who may have witnessed the accident.
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident. Despite the early morning hour, there were other people in the area. They urge anyone with information to come forward. As of now, no testimonies have been reported from that morning in Rödgener Straße.
The injured woman was fortunate to receive immediate assistance from three passersby. She was later transported to a clinic for treatment. The police investigation continues, and they encourage anyone with information about the incident or the drivers involved to contact them.
