Hit-and-run driver flees after damaging parked Škoda Fabia in Gersfeld

A parked Škoda Fabia was damaged in a hit-and-run incident at a Gersfeld shopping centre on Wednesday morning. The driver responsible left the scene without stopping, leaving behind an estimated €1,500 in repairs. Police are now searching for witnesses to identify the culprit.

The incident occurred between 8:15 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. in the parking lot of Ebersberger Platz. An unknown motorist sideswiped the grey Škoda, striking the left side mirror, the driver's door, and the fender. The damage was discovered shortly after the collision, but the responsible party had already fled.

No other recent hit-and-run cases involving parked vehicles have been reported in Gersfeld or the wider Fulda district. Authorities are reviewing any available security footage from the area and asking anyone with information to come forward.

The vehicle's owner now faces repair costs of around €1,500. Police continue to investigate the incident, urging witnesses to contact them with details. The driver's failure to stop violates legal obligations after an accident.
