Hit-and-run driver crashes into Eder Bridge and vanishes without a trace

Authorities are searching for a driver who crashed into the Eder Bridge in Edertal-Anraff and fled the scene. The incident happened sometime between Saturday, November 20, 2025, and Monday, November 22, 2025. A criminal complaint for hit-and-run has now been filed by the Federal Waterways and Shipping Office (WSA).

The collision involved an unidentified vehicle striking a bridge support on the Ederbrücke. After the impact, the car slid down the embankment on the left side. Operational fluids leaked from the vehicle, contaminating the surrounding soil.

The hit-and-run has left authorities with an ongoing investigation. Environmental cleanup efforts have already taken place, but the driver remains at large. Anyone with details about the incident is encouraged to come forward.
