Hit-and-run and stolen car baffle Marburg police in 24-hour crime spree
Marburg police are investigating two separate incidents after a hit-and-run collision and a car theft occurred within 24 hours. A flatbed truck with Polish plates struck an Opel Corsa before fleeing, while a gray Ford Fiesta was stolen from a nearby parking lot. Authorities are now appealing for witnesses in both cases.
The first incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, November 25, on Federal Highway 62 (B62) between Brungershausen and Caldern. A white flatbed truck, covered with a gray tarp and bearing Polish license plates, collided with an orange Opel Corsa. The truck driver left the scene without stopping, causing around €2,000 in damage to the Corsa's left fender.
Both investigations remain ongoing, with police focusing on locating the flatbed truck and its driver as well as recovering the stolen Fiesta. Witnesses with relevant information are encouraged to contact Marburg authorities immediately.
