Cyclist Hit by Car and Seriously Injured - Hit-and-Run: 77-Year-Old Driver Strikes Cyclist in Niedernhausen
A 58-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident in Niedernhausen, Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis, on Saturday evening. The driver involved, a 77-year-old, initially fled the scene but was later found by police.
The cyclist was struck while the driver was making a turn, failing to notice the cyclist. The impact caused serious injuries, and the cyclist was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The driver, however, did not stop after the collision. Instead, she continued over the bicycle on the ground and left the scene. Police later tracked her down at her residence and seized her driver's license. She now faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident.
The identity of the 77-year-old driver has not been publicly disclosed. The cyclist's condition remains unknown, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
