Fire Destroys CafĂŠ in Kassel - Owner Slightly Injured - Historic Kassel pub gutted after oil heater sparks devastating blaze

A fire ravaged a pub in Kassel late on Monday night, leaving the building severely damaged. The blaze is believed to have started due to a faulty oil-fired heater. A 76-year-old woman, the pub’s owner, suffered minor injuries while attempting to extinguish the flames.

The fire broke out after a technical fault in an oil heater. By the time firefighters arrived, the pub was already consumed by flames. Despite the owner’s swift response, she could not prevent the fire from spreading.

The building was completely gutted, with structural damage so severe that it now poses a risk of collapse. Police have estimated the total cost of the damage at around €150,000.

The owner escaped with only minor injuries, but the pub itself may be beyond repair. Investigators are still examining the exact cause of the heater’s malfunction. The incident has left the future of the long-standing establishment uncertain.
