Historic Excelsior Hotel Nürnberg Fürth reopens after bold 3.5-year transformation

The Excelsior Hotel Nürnberg Fürth has reopened its doors after a 3.5-year closure. Now under the management of the GCH Hotel Group, the historic property combines modern comforts with vintage charm. Its return marks a significant boost for Fürth's hospitality scene, accounting for roughly 8% of the local market.

The hotel officially relaunched on March 16, 2026, following an extensive renovation. Its 104 rooms have been fully modernised, blending sustainable new furnishings with carefully restored vintage pieces. A cutting-edge climate system ensures a consistent indoor temperature of 23°C (73°F) throughout the year.

The redesign presented notable structural challenges, particularly due to the building's historic architecture and expansive glass facades. While specific technical solutions remain undisclosed, the result includes versatile conference facilities capable of hosting up to 400 attendees. Early demand has been strong, with occupancy rates for upcoming trade fair periods already reaching 80%. The GCH Hotel Group operates the property under the Radisson Individuals brand, aiming to further integrate local culture by partnering with artists to enhance public spaces and select suites.

The Excelsior Hotel Nürnberg Fürth now stands as a key player in the region's hospitality sector. Its mix of modern technology, historic character, and local artistic collaborations positions it for long-term success. Bookings during trade fair seasons suggest the hotel will remain a sought-after destination for visitors.
