High-speed police chase ends in crash as driver flees on foot in Roßdorf

A motorist fled from police at high speed in Roßdorf late on Sunday night. The incident began at a checkpoint on Jahnstraße before the driver crashed and abandoned the car. Authorities have since launched criminal proceedings against the suspect for multiple offences.

The chase started at around 11:20 p.m. on November 30, when the driver evaded a police checkpoint on Jahnstraße. Officers immediately pursued the vehicle as it sped away. After roughly 700 metres, the car skidded out of control at the intersection of Am Birkehe and Holzgasse.

The abandoned car was recovered at the crash site. Investigations continue as authorities work to locate the driver. If convicted, the suspect faces penalties for all three offences linked to the incident.
