Heusenstamm Food Bank Relocates to Better Serve the Community
The Heusenstamm Food Bank has relocated within the Campus Heusenstamm complex. The move marks a new chapter for the city's first food distribution centre, which opened in January 2022. Local officials recently visited the site to celebrate the transition and highlight ongoing needs.
The food bank now operates from Building C, situated to the left of the main entrance. Mayor Steffen Ball and Jasmin Heine, head of the Integration, Family & Seniors Department, toured the new premises to mark the relocation. Despite the change of address, food distribution will still take place every Tuesday.
The initiative relies on volunteers to collect, transport, and hand out supplies. Donations of non-perishable items, dairy products, canned goods, and fresh produce with valid best-before dates are all accepted. Local businesses contribute much of the stock, providing recipients with enough food to last a few days.
Donations can be dropped off at the new site on Tuesdays between 8:30 AM and 12:00 PM. The food bank continues to urge residents to give what they can, as demand for non-perishable goods remains high.
The Heusenstamm Food Bank's new location aims to improve access for those in need. With weekly distributions and ongoing volunteer support, the service remains a key resource for the community. Organisers stress that regular donations are still essential to keep the initiative running smoothly.
