Hessian Social Prize 2026 Seeks Digital Projects Strengthening Community Bonds

The Hessian Social Prize 2026 is now accepting applications until May 11. This year's award highlights projects that use digital tools to foster connections and provide practical help. Organisers are looking for initiatives that combine technology with long-term solidarity.

The prize targets schemes that responsibly apply new technologies to deliver real support. Eligible applicants include municipalities, schools, associations, and volunteer groups. Cultural, health, and social sector organisations can also take part.

Projects must have run for at least one year to qualify. Dr. Markus Juch, Diocesan Caritas Director and Chair of the League of Free Welfare Organizations in Hesse, stressed the need for digital solutions to serve people directly. He called for tailored support that meets community needs through technology.

The focus remains on bridging gaps and strengthening social bonds. Past editions have recognised digital innovations, though specific details on previous winners or their impact are not available.

Applications close on May 11, 2026. Successful projects will demonstrate how digital applications create lasting connections and improve lives. The prize aims to showcase practical, people-centred solutions in Hesse's social security sector.
