Hessian Financial Experts Provide Tips for Young People - Hessian Ministry Launches Free Online Finance Lecture Series for Young Adults
The Hessian Ministry of Finance is set to launch an online lecture series, '60 Minutes for Your Finances', tailored for young adults. Starting November 4, the series will consist of four one-hour sessions, held on consecutive Tuesdays at 6:00 PM CET, with no registration required. The lectures will cover crucial financial topics and will be available for later viewing.
The series will delve into managing financial risks, navigating finances in relationships, understanding cryptocurrencies, and the psychological factors influencing money decisions. Andreas Hackethal, an economist at Goethe University Frankfurt, recommends two fundamental rules for handling financial risks: avoiding financial ruin and investing for returns above savings interest rates and inflation. He suggests using the Seasn app to assess lifetime wealth vulnerability and plan retirement savings.
Emil Nefzger of Finanztip will discuss fair expense splitting and balancing finances when one partner takes on more unpaid care work. He advises open conversations about money and treating partners as equals to prevent conflicts in relationships. The lectures will be led by Prof. Dr. Michael Hauer from the University of Leipzig and Dr. Susanne Weiß from the University of Munich, along with other experts. Details about the lectures can be found on the Hessian Ministry of Finance's website.
The '60 Minutes for Your Finances' lecture series aims to empower young adults with essential financial knowledge. With no registration required, it offers a convenient way to learn and understand key financial concepts, with the added benefit of being able to watch the recorded sessions at any time.
