Hessian Leader Backs Star Singers’ Fight Against Child Labour

Hessian Minister-President Boris Rhein has praised the Star Singers for their ongoing campaign against child labour. At a recent event, he presented a donation and highlighted the group’s role in supporting vulnerable children. Their 2023 initiative, School Instead of Factory, focuses on ending exploitative work and promoting education.

The Star Singers’ latest campaign aims to protect children from forced labour and secure their right to schooling. Funds raised will directly support projects in Bangladesh, where child labour remains a serious issue.

During the event, Rhein received the traditional house blessing Christus mansionem benedicat from the singers. He described them as 'ambassadors of hope and charity' and stressed that their work proves 'children can change the world'. Despite global commitments to eliminate child labour by 2025, millions of children still face exploitation. The Star Singers’ efforts seek to turn this pledge into action by funding education and better opportunities.

The donation and public support from Rhein reinforce the Star Singers’ mission. Their projects in Bangladesh will help move children from factories to classrooms. The campaign continues to push for tangible progress in the fight against child labour.
