Hesse’s vocational training grows but still trails pre-pandemic participation

Hesse has seen a steady rise in dual-system vocational training over the past decade. New figures reveal growth across most districts, though participation remains below pre-pandemic levels. This year’s integrated vocational training report also introduces a focus topic for the first time.

The latest data shows a 7.2% increase in dual trainees across Hesse over the last five years. Yet, numbers still lag 4.0% behind those recorded in 2019/20.

The report confirms progress in dual-system training, with most districts making gains over the past decade. However, the gap compared to 2019/20 figures suggests ongoing challenges in fully recovering participation. Regional initiatives and expanded data analysis aim to support further growth in the coming years.
