ADAC expects less traffic despite end of holidays - Hesse’s school holidays end, easing weekend traffic—but snow may slow drivers

Travel across Germany is expected to be quieter this weekend as school holidays end in Hesse. The ADAC has reported a noticeable drop in traffic compared to previous weekends. However, wintry weather could still cause delays for those on the road.

Hesse is the only German state where school breaks finish this weekend. With fewer families travelling, the ADAC predicts lighter traffic than usual. But drivers may still face difficulties due to heavy snowfall, icy roads, and strong winds.

The ADAC office in Bad Homburg, located at Louisenstraße 40, has monitored the situation closely. Despite reduced travel volumes, authorities warn that hazardous conditions could disrupt journeys.

The combination of fewer holidaymakers and severe weather means mixed conditions for drivers. While congestion may be lighter, snow, ice, and wind remain risks. Travellers are advised to check forecasts and plan routes carefully before setting off.
