Hesse's carnival princes and princesses gathered at Biebrich Palace in Wiesbaden for an official reception. State Premier Boris Rhein hosted the event, celebrating the region's vibrant carnival traditions. The ceremony recognised both young and adult representatives from local clubs across Hesse.

Around 40 children's prince and princess pairs attended, alongside over 74 adult pairs with their courts. The participants came from clubs affiliated with the Middle Rhine Carnival Association and the Carnival Federation of Kurhessen.

Rhein took the opportunity to honour the volunteer efforts of Hessian carnival organisers. He emphasised how carnival plays a key role in keeping local customs alive and spreading happiness. The premier also noted its political side, where humour and satire often reflect current affairs.

The reception at the historic palace underscored the cultural significance of carnival in the region. Clubs from different parts of Hesse showcased their traditions, reinforcing community spirit and shared heritage.

The event highlighted the dedication of volunteers who keep carnival celebrations running each year. By bringing together young and experienced participants, the reception strengthened ties between clubs and local government. Hesse's carnival season continues to thrive as a mix of tradition, humour, and community engagement.
