Hessen crime wave exposes vulnerabilities in homes and businesses

Thieves have struck in several locations across Hessen, targeting both businesses and residences. The most notable incident occurred in Ober-Mörlen where a valuable construction machine was stolen from an unfinished building. Meanwhile, police warn residents about scams and attempted burglaries in other areas.

In Ober-Mörlen, thieves broke into a raw building on Zur SchießhĂŒtte street between November 13-14, 2025 and made off with a specialized construction machine worth €8,000. The police urge anyone with information to come forward.

In Dortelweil, an attempted burglary was foiled thanks to the robust security features of an apartment door. The would-be thieves were unable to gain entry.

Unknown individuals broke into a pub in Bad Nauheim and stole cash from a slot machine. The incident is currently under investigation.

Burglars entered a residential building in Bönstadt, searching a ground-floor apartment and breaking into an upstairs unit. The results of their search remain unclear.

A scammer posing as a bank employee tricked a Bad Nauheim resident into revealing the location of her gold jewelry and coins. The scammer then sent an accomplice to the woman's apartment, who stole gold valuables worth a mid-five-figure sum.

Police advise residents to remain vigilant and not to disclose financial details over the phone. They also warn against being pressured into handing over money or valuables to unknown persons. Anyone with information about these incidents is urged to contact local authorities.
