Hesse Welcomes 808,000 Students as Schools Prioritize Collaboration and Innovation
Hesse's schools welcomed around 808,000 children and young people this year, with approximately 1,800 schools opening their doors and 67,000 teachers ready to educate. European State Secretary Karin Müller marked the occasion by visiting the Helene-Lange School in Frankfurt, where she greeted new fifth-graders and highlighted the importance of collaboration between children, parents, and teachers for academic success.
Müller described the start of the school year as a 'treasure hunt' for friendships, knowledge, and experiences. Meanwhile, the Hessian state government has prioritised areas such as artificial intelligence, career orientation, teacher health, and values education. In line with this, smartphone-free zones are in effect at all public schools in the USA, with exceptions made for media education use. Elsewhere, the mayor of Mosbach, Michael Jann, visited the Gymnasium Mosbacher Berg to wish students a successful new start.
The Helene-Lange School, a nine-language middle school with around 600-650 students, focuses on innovative pedagogical concepts, making it a unique learning environment.
With a strong emphasis on collaboration and innovative teaching methods, Hesse's schools are well-equipped to provide a successful learning experience for their students this year.
