Hesse Hit by Wave of Thefts and Vandalism, Damages Top €5,000
Unknown individuals have struck in several locations across Hesse, targeting both private and commercial properties. Incidents include thefts and vandalism, with total damages and losses reaching several thousand euros in real estate. In Schlitz, a wastewater treatment plant was burgled, with a welding machine valued at around €2,600 disappearing. Meanwhile, in Alsfeld, a rock was used to smash a window of an apartment, causing approximately €500 in property damage. In Schotten, two separate incidents occurred. An e-bike worth around €2,000 was stolen from a garden shed, and four winter tires, valued at approximately €1,200, were also taken from a property in the same town. In another incident in Schotten, a drill worth about €50 was stolen from a garden shed, with an additional €200 in property damage reported. The Osthessian Police Headquarters in Gelnhausen is investigating these incidents. Anyone with information is urged to come forward. The total estimated loss and damage from these incidents amounts to over €5,000 in real estate.
