Hesse Funds Seven Innovative Serious Game Projects
Seven innovative game projects from across Hesse have secured funding in the fifth edition of the 'HESSEN serious GAME' program. The state has allocated a total of €300,000 to support the development of serious games that promote themes such as sustainability and health in an engaging way.
Raumkapsel Schmidt and Stein-Schomburg GbR from Kassel received €24,000 to further develop their serious game 'LEAVE'. Meanwhile, Buntspecht & Rabe Softwaremanufaktur GmbH from Hünfeld was awarded €24,900 for enhancing 'The Greatest Game: Die Elektrit Verschwörung'.
Omeelia GmbH, a newly established company in Wiesbaden-Biebrich, secured €50,000 for their serious game 'Through Your Eyes'. Sphery Exerworld GmbH, another newcomer based in Darmstadt, received the same amount for developing 'ExerG'.
Pixelsplit GmbH & Co. KG from Darmstadt and Eduard Dobermann - Turtle Knight Games from Weiterstadt also received funding. Pixelsplit was awarded €50,000 for developing 'Goldmünze', while Eduard Dobermann secured €47,400 for his first-person game 'Swing by Swing'.
Cosalux GmbH from Offenbach am Main rounded off the list of recipients, receiving €50,000 for the further development of their serious game 'Vita'Aer'.
The funding decisions were made by an expert jury representing universities, the industry, the Hessen Agency, and the Ministry of Economics. The program aims to foster innovation in gaming while promoting important themes. The selected projects demonstrate the diversity and creativity of Hesse's gaming scene.
