More spending for people with disabilities in Hesse 2026 - Hesse boosts disability services with €2.71 billion budget for 2026

The Hesse State Welfare Association (LWV) has announced a significant budget increase for disability services in 2026. Under Ministerpräsident Boris Rhein’s leadership, the budget will rise to around €2.71 billion—an extra €147.5 million compared to 2025. The funding will support over 64,000 people with disabilities across the region.

The LWV’s expanded budget will focus heavily on integration assistance and support programs. A total of €2.26 billion has been allocated for these services, benefiting individuals with disabilities as well as homeless people. The organisation also projects it will serve 64,400 eligible individuals in 2026, while its Integration Office continues to assist 100,000 severely disabled employees and their employers.

The budget rise to €2.71 billion will directly fund disability and homelessness support programs. With 64,400 individuals set to receive assistance, the LWV’s financial adjustments aim to balance expanded services with revised local contributions. The changes take effect in 2026 under the state’s current leadership.
