Hesse Awards €300,000 to Seven Game Projects in Latest 'HESSEN *serious* GAME' Round

The state of Hesse has awarded €300,000 to seven game projects in the fifth edition of the 'HESSEN serious GAME' program. The funding, decided by an expert jury, supports both serious games and classic games developed in Hesse.

Among the recipients are Sphery Exerworld GmbH from Darmstadt, who received €50,000 for the further development of their serious game 'ExerG'. Another Darmstadt-based company, Pixelsplit GmbH & Co. KG, also secured €50,000 for their game 'GoldmΓΌnze'. Cosalux GmbH from Offenbach am Main was awarded the same amount for their serious game 'Vita'Aer'.

Eduard Dobermann - Turtle Knight Games from Weiterstadt received €47,400 for their first-person game 'Swing by Swing'. The newest addition to the list is Omeelia GmbH, established in Wiesbaden-Biebrich, which received €50,000 for their serious game 'Through Your Eyes'.

The funding decisions were made by an expert jury comprising representatives from universities, the industry, the Hessen Agency, and the Ministry of Economics. Hessian Minister of Economics, Kaweh Mansoori, praised the games industry as a significant asset to the Hessian economy.

In total, five serious games and two classic games from different cities in Hesse were selected for funding. The state of Hesse continues to support and nurture the growth of the games industry, with this edition of the 'HESSEN serious GAME' program demonstrating its commitment to fostering innovation and creativity.
