Heimtextil 2026 unites global textile innovators under sustainability and craftsmanship

Heimtextil 2026 took place in Frankfurt from January 13 to 16, drawing thousands of professionals from the global textile industry. The event showcased everything from upholstery fabrics to acoustic textiles, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovation. Over 3,000 exhibitors from 65 to 148 countries gathered to present their latest products and technologies.

The fair is one of the largest of its kind, typically attracting around 67,000 visitors each year. Exhibitors included major names like DTB, Erfurt & Sohn, and Erfal, alongside leading German home textile providers such as the DecoTeam. Countries like China, India, Pakistan, and Turkey were among the top participants, alongside European nations like Germany, Italy, and Spain.

Heimtextil is organised by product category, placing related materials in nearby halls to make comparisons easier. This setup helps reduce walking time while allowing buyers to evaluate fabrics, fibres, and finished contract applications side by side. The event also featured the Econogy program, which highlights textiles meeting strict environmental and social standards. For 2026 and 2027, the Heimtextil Trends program explored the theme 'Craft is a verb'. It examined how digital tools and physical production methods interact in modern textile design. The fair remains a working environment, focusing on construction, performance, and supply rather than finished room displays. Designers and decision-makers benefit from the visibility of production methods, testing standards, and sourcing options. The event demands preparation but rewards attendees with insights into new trends, technologies, and potential partnerships. A full list of exhibitors is available through the official Messe Frankfurt website.

Heimtextil 2026 reinforced its role as a key platform for the textile industry. The fair connected suppliers, buyers, and innovators while promoting sustainable practices and digital advancements. Next year’s edition will likely continue this focus, offering another opportunity for professionals to explore the latest in textile design and production.
