Hateful Vandalism Targets Gersfeld Church

A church in Gersfeld was targeted in a hateful act of vandalism. Unknown culprits defaced the building on Marktplatz, causing approximately €100 in damage. The incident occurred between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on October 20. Authorities are seeking information from the public to help identify those responsible. The vandalism included spraying a swastika and graffiti onto a window. Additionally, coat hooks were damaged and cabinets were emptied. In a further act of disrespect, a hygiene product was placed on a statue of Jesus Christ. No suspects have been identified at this time, and investigations are ongoing. The church, a symbol of unity and peace, was targeted in this hateful act. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward. Repairs are underway to restore the building to its former state.
