Hanau Weekend Crime Wave: BMW Theft, Exposure, Burglaries, and Baseball Bat Threats
Hanau and surrounding areas have seen a series of incidents over the weekend. A black BMW X1, parked on Breitscheidstraße, was linked to a stolen bag. Meanwhile, a man exposed himself in Maintal, and a house in Erlensee was burglarized. Police also arrested three individuals for making threats with a baseball bat.
On Saturday, a black fabric bag, containing hair clippers, scissors, brushes, and combs worth around €2,700, was stolen from a BMW in Hanau. The bag was later found in a black BMW X1 parked on Breitscheidstraße, near the 30s block. A 41-year-old driver and two passengers, aged 19 and 20, were taken into custody and face criminal charges for threats after brandishing a baseball bat at a group of people.
In Maintal, an unknown man exposed himself in bushes near a playground on Goethestraße on Saturday afternoon. He was described as wearing a black-and-red baseball cap, a dark jacket, and dark jeans.
Unknown intruders broke into a detached house on Landwehrstraße in Erlensee on Saturday, causing around €1,000 in property damage. The suspects of a separate apartment burglary in Nidderau were described as two unknown male offenders: one about 20 years old with short dark hair wearing a light brown teddy jacket and dark trousers, and the other about 15 years old, smaller in stature. They likely entered by breaking a shop window or forcefully opening windows.
Police are seeking witnesses for further information on the incidents. The BMW X1 with license plate HU-XX-XXX has been secured, and the three individuals involved in the threat incident are in custody. The investigations into the burglary and exposure incidents are ongoing.
