Hanau Tramways adjusts bus and rail schedules for smoother commutes in December 2025

Hanau Tramways (HSB) will introduce minor changes to its bus and rail network on December 14, 2025. The updates aim to improve connections and reduce overcrowding during peak student travel times. Revised schedules and route adjustments have been published in the digital timetable book at hsb.de.

The most notable change affects Line 51 in the Main-Kinzig District. From Monday to Friday, it will now serve Christoph-Kolumbus-Straße and Maria-Merian-Bogen, running hourly to the main station instead of Freiheitsplatz. This adjustment supplements Line 8’s existing service.

Line 8 itself will start operating one hour earlier on weekdays. The first departure from the main station will leave at 5:06 a.m., while the first trip from Pioneer Park begins at 5:14 a.m. Early commuters will benefit from the extended morning service.

On Line 2, the first weekday morning departure toward the main station will leave five minutes earlier. The change ensures a more reliable connection to the S-Bahn. Similarly, Line 20 buses will depart one minute earlier in both directions during mornings to stabilize transfers at the main station.

Line 7 will add a school-day trip at 7:05 a.m. from Bruchwiesenweg, serving the main station, Auheimer Straße, and ending at Akademiestraße. However, late afternoon and evening service to August-Schärtner-Halle will be discontinued due to low passenger numbers.

The Kinzig Valley Railway (Frankfurt–Fulda route) will also see adjustments. Departure times for regional lines RE 50 and RB 51 will change, impacting Hanau’s main station and Wolfgang station. Additionally, services on regional line RB 5 will no longer run.

These modifications were developed by Hanauer Straßenbahn GmbH (HSB) in coordination with KVG Main-Kinzig. The goal is to improve synchronization between bus lines and the Kinzigtalbahn, ensuring better frequency and smoother transfers for passengers.

The updated schedules take effect on December 14, 2025, with full details available in the digital timetable book. Passengers are encouraged to check the revised times for Lines 2, 5, 7, 8, 20, and 51, as well as the Kinzig Valley Railway. The changes focus on improving punctuality and reducing congestion during busy periods.
